Halle’s Story

Halle’s Happy Bags is an organization started by 13 year-old Halle Jacks. As an Osteogenesis Imprefecta patient, she has spent a lot of time in hospitals. At one hospital stay, Halle received a small bag of toys. That bag of trinkets made Halle smile and took her mind off of her condition.

Knowing the frustration of being an extended-stay hospital patient, Halle wanted to give back, and began filling backpacks with toys and activities for children. She and her mother, Beth, distribute them to children in hospitals in Pittsburgh and other cities, to brighten kids’ days and keep them entertained.
